Dancing

To h*** with trying to sound like a sophisticated knitting blog. I want to rant about nothing but my uniteresting life, and to heck with anyone who actually cares.

Whoa, that took all of the steam out of me. oh well, I'm going to rant anyway. Well, it won't really be a rant. But it will be rantish. OK, maybe not. But I am going to blather on about my personal life without regard for the readers (if any) of this blog.

Yeah, it's not really a rant, so I don't know why I said that. But anyway, here's the story:
My school has a tradition of dancing in P.E. every year. We do square dance, waltz, tango, cha-cha, swing, and line dancing. We (obviously) need partners for this, and most people try to ask each other before it starts. I did try, I really did. But the first day of square dancing came, and there I was. No partner in sight. All the non-partner people scrambled to find partners, and V asked me. Now remember that he asked me literally two minutes before we started. I square dance with him for about three days, but it's OK since we're making fools of ourselves in a group. Then today comes, when we start waltz. The girls get to pick partners, and I really didn't like V. So I asked K, and he said yes. Now, K had been dancing with A, but she was absent that day (lucky for me). So we danced and it was OK. But now V is mad, and I think A (who I dislike) will be mad too. Was what I did so wrong? I don't think so, but my friends do. Oh well. Too bad for them.

Now, on to knitting. I'm in a knitting slump. I was becoming frustrated with H's leg warmers, so I gave up on those. I need to go out and buy circular needles for Dad and Brother's hats, but I can't go. Right now I'm just finshing up M's scarf, which I will have pics of in a couple days. (I would say soon, but I know myself.) Bye!

Addicted

I am addicted to blogs.

I am also a complete hypocrite.

I just deleted a blog from my bookmarks because they hadn't updated since November 9. If you look at the previous date on my blog, it says *gasp* November 4.

Naughty, naughty, naughty. I hope I stil get some good yarn from Santa.

Anyway, this is a knitting blog, right? So let's get to some knitting.

I have a lot of Christmas knitting to do. And, of course, one of my frinds just had to be born in December. So I have a birthday gift as well as Christmas to do.

For H's b-day, on December 15, I am making her leg warmers. This is because she loves long socks, but I am not up to making socks yet. Hence, the leg warmers. I am sooooo far along. Not really. I just started the other day. or was it yesterday? I'm suffering from memory loss due to the Thanksgiving food coma.

So yeah, I'm knitting them flat. Its a worsted weight yarn from my stash. i'm hoping the stockinette stitch will keep them slightly stretchy. But i don't know.

let's see, what else have I got? Ah, yes, my Secret Snowflake Scarf. Luckily, my group of friends does this Secret Snowflake where we pick 1 person out of a hat (or lunch bag) and give them a gift. This way we give each other presents, but we don't have to stress out about it. here's the scarf I'm knitting for M.

A close-up:

So yeah, that's about it. Except that I recently joined ravelry, and it's awesome! Love joining groups, double-love the easy pattern search, and i can't wait to organize my stash.
Happy late Thanksgving!

Millenium Park

Don't you just love Fridays? They're especially great when my Advanced Art class takes a field trip to the Art Institute and Millenium Park. I really want to live in Chicago. Really, really, truly do. Alas, I'll just have to use these pictures to imagine it for now.

A Roy Lichtenstein painting. Unfortunately the only one I took, since I was busted for taking photos of an exhibit I'm not allowed to. Whoopsie, daisy. It's really too bad, seeing as it was one of the coolest exhibits there. It's by a post-modern artist, Poppel, and he had basically set up his studio in the mueseum. pretty neat.

Here come pictures of Millenium Park. I really don't think I need captions for every single one of these.

pretty, huh? Plus, I got a lot of knitting done on the bus. That is, when obnoxious teenage boys weren't bugging me about it. I'm currently working on a crazy, multicolored scarfit's going to be super-long, but I have no idea who to give it to. I'll probably end up keeping it.
